Situated on the site of the old fortified castle at the top of a village classified as one of the "most beautiful villages in France", the gardens overlook the confluence of the Dordogne-Vézère rivers. Dr Linarès originally created a cosmopolitan English-style park in 1902 when he returned to Limeuil after his career with the Sultan of Morocco. Since 2004, the association AU FIL DU TEMPS has been restoring it and installing new educational, fun and interactive gardens with thematic interpretation paths.
